Our Yoga Teachers

Padma (Joanne Bellanger)

Padma has been a student of Swami Radha's teachings since 1986 and a Yasodhara Yoga teacher for over twenty years.  A long-time member of the Cranbrook community, Padma owned and managed Lotus Books and was the Director of the Cranbrook Radha House.  Since 2013, Padma has been living, working and teaching at Yasodhara Ashram and finding inspiration in the beauty and sacred space.

Janice Ferraro

Janice has just celebrated 38 years of yoga study and practice and has been teaching in Castlegar since 1992.  It has been an exciting and varied 23 year career with yoga classes at the Recreation Centre, Selkirk College,  the Pulp Mill, the Day Therapy Addictions Centre, Interior Health, and the Trail Smoke Eaters.  Currently Janice works out of two studios; the Columbia River Studio~A magical Setting and the Library Lower Level Yoga Space and continues to study with her teacher Louie Ettling in Vancouver. 

Margie Hardy

Margie began to study and practice yoga in 1975 and has been teaching yoga for 35 years.  She is a Certified Third Age teacher (55+ modifications) and is passionate about restorative yoga and meditation.  Margie lives and works in Richmond, B.C. and when she is not doing yoga she is teaching tap dancing and playing with her granddaughters. 

Trisha Wilson

Trisha Wilson teaches yoga at Mountain Waters Spa and Wellness in Nelson. She is on the yoga teacher-training faculty of Gaiatri Yoga, Heart Yoga and School of Sacred Arts.  Her classes weave alignment, philosophy, mythology and creative sequencing with a deep reverence for the transformational power of the practice. A full mesa carrier of the Incan Medicine Wheel tradition, Trisha’s classes are infused with nature-based spirituality. At once soothing and uplifting, her teachings aim to ignite the individual spirit and harmonize the collective heart.

Kerry Lee

Kerry has been teaching yoga and yoga therapy  for over 7 years in the Greater Trail area.  She has trained with Trinity Yoga and is continuing her studies at Kripalu in Massachussetts.  Kerry shares her passion and skills with the community in a variety of places such as the Stroke Recovery Group, the Acute Psychiatry Group and with her own programs: Yoga Therapy for Pain Management, Yoga for Healing and Yoga for Stress Management.  Kerry is also a regular presenter at Continuing Medical Education conferences happening throughout the Kootenay region.
  

Myra Duff

Myra began Yoga by Myra five years ago and teaches hatha yoga.  She is passionate about laughter yoga and believes laughter is a key element of releasing stress. 

Rya Ramsay

Rya has just completed her yoga teacher training at the Shanti Yoga Studio in Nelson.  She attended her first yoga class over ten years ago and is excited to be starting her teaching career with her first teacher at Under The Sun Yoga.  Rya offers a Mom and Baby class, a Yin class and a Mellow Yoga Flow at the Library Lower Level Yoga Space.  She desires to provide a safe space for all to experience the yoga practice and to encourage students to be open to what yoga has to offer.
